Hi Susan
From what I understand, the unit is not made for tea. You may be able to try it with loose tea - let me k now how it works out!

this has nothing to do with your green comment/subject but more about doing tea. i was going to try using a tea bag in my keurig but in the instructions it said not too - so i was curious if you or any of the others on here have had trouble with doing that. do you just lay it inside the reusable my-kcup? does it clog the unit?

I turn my machine off at night so it won't consume power by keeping the power on. I think this is the worst waste of a single serve unit. http://www.einfospot.com/keurig

I cant live without my keurig, and I agree, it is much more efficient than a regular coffee maker. I drink coffee and tea all through the day at various times. I hate drinking coffee that has been sitting for hours, its nasty. I am spoiled by my keurig, I need a fresh cup every time.

Yeah! K-cups are not the most environmentally friendly products around but they do save us time. So maybe they cancel each other out. Who knows...

I am so glad that I stumbled upon your post about the Keurig - and on a green blog, no less! I was also concerned about the Keurig being wasteful when I first read about it. I really liked the concept since I'm the only one in my family that drinks coffee or tea; and I never want more than one cup of coffee. The reusable K-cup is so great for this! I do keep a couple of the one use organic cups on hand for guests that may want something different. But overall, I think the Keurig can be quite green if you using the reusable K-cup. Thank you for the post!
