I would challenge the author of this to show me his sources for how paper is made. Every step mentioned is wrong...literally, every step. Not only wrong, but things that have never been done, mostly because it is impossible to be done. My favorite one is how it was mentioned that trees are "found" and dragged out of the forest by helicopter. Well, maybe its the part of a tree having to dry for three years haha...noo, cooking it for 8 hours...ah damn, i don't know...venting the steam and "moisture" (by the way, moisture is water, and water in its vapor phase is steam...therefore, moisture is steam) to the atmosphere is probably the best...

I really would like to see this source because I think I've been doing my job wrong for quite some time.

Hi Greenfeet Readers and Rajeev?

What a beautifully well written article on a subject that has been in the minds of all of us.

I use to struggle with the plastic or paper option before I crocheted a couple upcycled reusable "plarn" grocery bags for myself. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2011/03/06/newspaper-bags-recycled-into-plarn/

Now I do I pick plastic everytime just to make upcycled gifts of recycled "plarn" grocery bags for my family, friends and coworkers.

"Plarn" also makes really nice slippers, purses, headbands/hats, wallets, an emergency blanket for your car or camping and even snowflakes for your Christmas tree. It's water resistant, tough and stretchy...think of the wonderful ways you can use it and reuse it!

Crochet can always be "reused" and make something different. Endless uses for plarn (Plastic Yarn)!

Enjoy plastic! Use it up!! I hope my sharing got creative juices going in some of you!
