Save Money with Rechargeable Batteries

Many people steer away from rechargeable batteries because they cost more per pack. True, the average 4-pack of AA rechargeable batteries costs about twice as much as a 4-pack of AA alkaline disposable batteries. But wait – that means the “break even point” is two packs. So, each additional battery charge  is like getting free batteries. In other words, after recharging your batteries twice, they’ve paid for themselves. When you consider rechargeable batteries can be used over 100 times, how can you afford NOT to use rechargeable batteries?

Rechargeable batteries can be used in place of disposable batteries in just about anything that takes batteries.  In fact, in many electrical gadgets (like digital cameras, for instance) nicad (NiMh) batteries significantly out perform their alkaline counterparts.  Use them in remote controls, wall thermostats, wireless mice, toys, games…  you get the idea.

I find rechargeable batteries very convenient.  Instead of running to the store for new batteries, just plop the tired rechargeables into the battery charger.  In no time, they’re as good as new and ready for the next task.  In my home, there’s no shortage of need for AAA and AA batteries.  We keep extra batteries pre-charged and ready to go.  We just swap them out when needed and keep on going.  And why not?  After two charges, they’re free!
